The Club Show of Czech Mountain Dogs in Ludvíkov was an exceptional day for our kennel Dědictví Athabasky, confirming both the quality of our long-term breeding work and the direction in which we are heading.

The show attracted a large number of high-quality dogs and representatives of the Czech Mountain Dog breed from across the country, and the competition was genuinely strong in all classes. This makes the results achieved by our dogs all the more meaningful to us.

Berenika Český Bodygard – Excellent bitch & successful breeding approval

Our youngest addition to the breeding programme, Berenika Český Bodygard, was awarded an Excellent rating and, on the same day, successfully fulfilled all requirements for breeding approval.
The judge’s critique highly praised her conformation and overall type, awarding her the maximum possible score. Berenika is now officially a breeding bitch.

In the coming period, we will focus on selecting a suitable stud dog with whom it will be possible to create a pairing that respects the breed’s conformation, working ability, and health requirements.

Baileys Brdský expres – Excellent and a strong legacy in offspring

We were also delighted by the success of our bitch Baileys Brdský expres, who likewise received an Excellent rating. This day was particularly special as several of her offspring were also presented at the show — with very encouraging results.

In strong competition, they achieved the following awards:

  • Ayumi Dědictví Athabasky – Excellent

  • Aiwa Dědictví Athabasky – Excellent, 3rd place

  • Arisa Dědictví Athabasky – Excellent

From the males:

  • Akio Dědictví Athabasky – Excellent, 3rd place

  • Akitoshi Dědictví Athabasky – Excellent

  • Amigo Má tajemství – Excellent (the oldest dog from this line entered, competing in a higher class)

The success of multiple siblings and related dogs at a single show is, in our view, a clear sign of the consistency of the litter and the quality of the line — a value that is fundamental to us as breeders.

Summary of our show day

For us, the Club Show in Ludvíkov was not only about grades and placements, but above all about confirmation that:

  • our chosen breeding direction makes sense,

  • our offspring can stand their ground even in strong competition,

  • and new breeding dogs can be built on solid foundations.

We would like to thank the Czech Mountain Dog Club for the organisation, judge Mgr. Naděžda Střálková for her fair and expert assessment, and everyone who shared this day with us.
